CABEI receives visit from ProCórdoba of Argentina

CABEI and Procórdoba initiated a strategic alliance to establish cooperation agreements and identify opportunities in the region.

Tegucigalpa, July 18, 2017. – In order to strengthen trade and the positioning of the Central American region as an area for opportunities, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) received a visit from a trade mission of Agencia ProCórdoba in Argentina.

During the visit at the CABEI headquarters, the commercial mission participated in talks given by the Bank’s experts, including Xiomara Hernández from the Procurement Unit and Noel Carranza from the Office of Administrative Services and Institutional Procurement.

During her speech Xiomara Hernández stated that, “CABEI’s mission is to promote the region’s economic integration and balanced economic and social development through actions aimed at fulfilling its 2015-2019 institutional strategy, ‘Integrating Sustainable Development and Competitiveness.’”

She added that, “With regard to procurement, the actions carried out to achieve the CABEI mission are in line with its Policy for the Procurement of Goods, Works, Services and Consultancies. In addition, the Bank’s website includes notices of tenders and national and international contests that are executed in the framework of the projects financed with CABEI resources. Likewise, it is the responsibility of the Executing Organizations to comply with the procedures established in the CABEI Procurement Norms”.

CABEI develops financial products and services in order to strengthen the productive sectors with the aim of stimulating the economic activity that they provide to the region.

At the meeting between the two entities, the ProCórdoba mission made a presentation regarding the commercial offering of Argentine companies to the region, and CABEI representatives stressed on the importance of facilitating a dialogue that will enable ProCórdoba to participate in the procurement processes of CABEI-financed operations.

The delegation of CPCE was formed by entrepreneurs: Viviana Arias, of Agencia ProCórdoba; Ricardo Moll, of MR Technologies; Carlos Rubbi, of Bertotto-Boglione y Esteban Atti of Silmag.
