Mendoza, Argentina, March 23, 2018.- The Executive President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Dr. Nick Rischbieth, and the Minister of Finance of the Argentine Republic, Luis Caputo, held a productive meeting this afternoon during which they explored opportunities for financing and regional integration.

At the meeting they discussed the scope of the loan recently approved by CABEI to this partner country. This is a financing amounting to US $32 million for the "Support Program for the Strategy for Expanding Coverage and Access to Health".
In this regard, Dr. Rischbieth stressed that CABEI seeks to provide innovative financial solutions to its member countries thereby promoting regional integration and economic development, generating well-being for its citizens.

About the Program
The general objective of the program is to strengthen the institutional capacities of the Ministry of Health of Argentina and the Ministries of Health of the Provinces in the provision of public health through the financing of improvements in the information systems of the vaccinated population, and the optimization of the supply conditions. The specific objectives of this operation are:
•    To improve the information systems and records of the vaccinated population, through the implementation of improvements in the architecture, software and hardware of the current computer system, as well as in the development and production of an app to capture information.
•    To improve the supply conditions and use of vaccines by building and equipping at least 6 provincial and 12 vaccine reservoirs.
•    To improve the conditions of supply and use of vaccines in the province of Buenos Aires with a capacity for monitoring and rapid response, by expanding and equipping a central deposit and at least 9 regional deposits in the province of Buenos Aires.
•    To contribute to the development of the responsible waste management in Health Establishments and substitution of dangerous chemicals in the Central American health system, promoting a transfer of experience between the Ministry of Health of the Argentine Republic and the countries of the Central American region.

The meeting, which was held at the 59th Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), was attended by the Undersecretary of International Financial Relations, Martín Soto, and José Félix Magaña, Head of Private Sector and Non-Sovereign Operations.

In this way, CABEI reaffirms its commitment to its partner countries to contribute to the economic and social development of the country with projects that strengthen its competitiveness and capacity to successfully face its challenges, in compliance with its constitutive mandate.
