Positive working meeting between CABEI and the Mesoamerica Project

The Executive Management of the Mesoamerica Project and CABEI organized a workshop to explore the Mesoamerican cooperation agenda.

Honduras, January 23, 2018.- In order to define the year's schedule, officials from the Executive Management of the Mesoamerica Project (DEPM) and sectoral specialists from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) participated in a workshop at the Bank's headquarters in the Honduran capital.

The probing and progress workshop was led by a team of CABEI sector specialists, Lidia Fromm Cea, Executive Director of the MP, and the managers of the DEPM.

The first part of the day was dedicated to the presentation of the MP's sectors of its Economic Axis: Transport, Energy, Telecommunications, and Trade Facilitation and Competitiveness; as well as the themes of its Social Axis: Health, Environment, Risk Management, Housing, and Food Security.

The thematic presentations block ended with an introduction to the MP's technological tools such as the Information System for the Cooperation Management of the Mesoamerica Project (SIGECOP) and the initiatives to strengthen strategic communication, in addition to the dissemination and positioning of the mechanism.

In the second part of the agenda, the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) of the Mesoamerica 2018 Project was reviewed by Executive Director Fromm Cea. On their behalf, CABEI officials indicated what the Bank's participation in this AOP will be for this year. 

CABEI is part of the MP's Inter-Institutional Technical Group (GTI), which technically and financially supports the portfolio of projects in Mesoamerica. Since 2008, the MP has achieved results with more than USD $ 4.5 billion in cooperation to improve the quality of life of the 230 million inhabitants of the region.
