The drinking water system is worth more than 84 million lempiras and will improve the living conditions of the community's inhabitants in terms of health and well-being.

Tegucigalpa, August 17, 2018.-  The Debt Conversion Program of Honduras to Spain, managed by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), inaugurated the project entitled "Construction of the Drinking Water System of the city of Catacamas" located in the department of Olancho.

With this project, a new drinking water system for the city of Catacamas was built and put into operation, a laboratory for measuring water quality; and the personnel who will manage the operation of these works and equipment were trained.

For its part, the Municipal City Hall of Catacamas, with its own resources and those of the Central Government, made an important contribution of 68.8 million lempiras for the construction of the complete pipeline and the associated work.

The investment made with funds from Spain's Debt Conversion Program to Honduras directly benefits more than 45,000 inhabitants of the city of Catacamas and its installed capacity in the immediate future will benefit neighboring communities.

The actions implemented through the Honduras-Spain Program are aligned with the development policies of the Government of Honduras and Spain, as well as with the Social Development axis of the CABEI Strategy, specifically with the sub-component "Contribute to the Development of Human Capital".
