CABEI makes first disbursement for execution of digital transformation program for Argentine SMEs
It is estimated that this program will benefit more than 300 local companies.
Buenos Aires, March 3, 2022.- The initiative to modernize the productive system of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Republic of Argentina with the financial support of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) is making steady progress with the first disbursement of US$1.0 million as part of the "SME Digital Transformation Program".
This first disbursement is part of a total of US$50.0 million and is aimed at financing productive innovation processes for a pilot group of approximately 300 companies to access a new 4.0 production platform.
"The strengthening of our financial soundness, as well as the close relationship with our extra-regional partners, allows us to generate cooperation mechanisms with the possibility of extending experiences and good practices to other CABEI member countries," said CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.
CABEI Director for Argentina and Colombia, Maximiliano Alonso, said: "We at the Bank want to support the growth of Argentina's productive sector and, together with the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs and the Ministry of Productive Development, we designed this program, which also provides for the incorporation of technology for 300 SMEs".
The program has four axes: the construction of three digital transformation 4.0 centers in strategic areas of the country, the training of 1,500 people, the financing of awareness-raising activities to mobilize demand for these services, and the systematization and transfer of this model to the entire region.
