More than 2,360 children benefited by the education support program promoted by Spain's Debt Conversion Program to Honduras.

Tegucigalpa, June 20, 2018.-  With an investment of 20.9 million lempiras, the Spanish Debt Conversion Program to Honduras (PCD), managed by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), inaugurated the project "Strengthening Formal and Non-Formal Education in the MANOFM commonwealth" today.

The project was developed in three lines of action with which it is expected to generate an impact on the living conditions of the population: Social Infrastructure, Equipment, Training and Environmental Health.

With this initiative, the construction of classrooms, laboratories, workshops, bathroom modules and other minor works in the institutes and schools in the municipalities of El Porvenir, San Ignacio, Guaimaca, Vallecillos, Valle de Ángeles and Cantarranas was carried out.

Approximately 2,360 students, 140 teachers, and 400 parents are considered direct beneficiaries of this initiative.

The actions carried out through this program are aligned with the development and environmental policies of the Government of Honduras and the Kingdom of Spain, and with the Social Development axis of the CABEI Strategy.

The event was attended by representatives of the Governments of Honduras and Spain, authorities from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, MANOFM, representatives of direct beneficiaries, and the construction company.
