A US$9,910 grant from the multilateral will help improve the quality and care of medical services in Santo Domingo.

Santo Domingo, October 25th, 2022.- In order to improve medical care for more than 30,000 patients at the Ralma Municipal Medical Center in Santo Domingo and surrounding communities, as well as to optimize hygiene processes in compliance with the highest quality standards, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) approved a non-reimbursable cooperation grant of US$9,910.

The donation, which will be formalized with the Ralma Municipal Medical Center, will be used to purchase diagnostic equipment, furniture and appliances to strengthen areas such as gynecology, pharmacy, among others.

"It fills us with satisfaction to know that we are contributing to the strengthening of health systems in the countries of the region, since quality service undoubtedly has an impact on their quality of life as a fundamental right. We are certain that this assistance will contribute to providing the care demanded by Dominicans in an expeditious and timely manner," said CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.

CABEI has historically supported important initiatives in the health sector in the region, and its support in the care and mitigation of the pandemic was crucial for its member countries in structuring the Emergency Support and Preparedness Program for COVID-19, reiterating its commitment to the well-being of the population by safeguarding their health.

This initiative is part of CABEI's Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility System (SASC), which seeks to address the challenges and opportunities that benefit people in the region.
