With the presentation of this initiative, the Bank strengthens its commitment to transparency, offering the public a more detailed view of its operations and decisions.

Tegucigalpa, September 5th, 2023 – In order to maximize access to information and strengthen accountability, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) launched the second stage of public performance indicators of its Access to Information Policy (PAI). This tool seeks to strengthen transparency and accountability, providing a detailed overview and through measurement indices of how the Bank applies these regulations.

The platform was presented within the framework of the webinar "Towards a measurement of the impact of access to information and its benefits", in the presence of experts from ECLAC, UNESCO, and the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Personal Data Protection of Mexico (INAI).

This effort complements the first phase of PAI indicators, which makes it possible to know the disclosure averages, classification of public and reserved documents, and trends in the processing of information requests, including response averages, among other key indices.

With the implementation of this second stage, it will be possible to access indicators on the work of the Board of Governors and the Board of Directors, including the number of sessions held, the systematized percentage of decisions taken, and the Board of Directors’ resolutions broken down by financial product, sector, and country, among other aspects also connected to the operations cycle and its main documents.

As of 2021, CABEI took a significant step by becoming the first multilateral to provide access, in real time and as the information is produced, to PAI performance indicators in order to promote greater openness regarding its operations and activities, in addition to strengthening development results.
