Tegucigalpa, September 28, 2022. The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) issued its first annual report on the implementation of the Access to Information Policy (PAI) 2021, consolidating its commitment to transparency and accountability on how it is applying said regulation.

Since the entry into force of the PAI on April 1, 2021, the public can access the agendas of the meetings and decisions of the Board of Governors, the Board of Directors and the Executive President. Regarding operations, the Bank has aligned itself with the standards of other multilaterals and is disclosing various information related to the project cycle, from the beginning of the operation to its closing. CABEI is also receiving, processing and answering requests for information from the public.

The impact of the Policy on the Bank's daily work is reflected in a series of solid and highly positive compliance indicators, including the disclosure of 542 documents in an average of eight calendar days and the receipt, processing and response to 100 requests for information in a term of 13 calendar days.

"The approval and implementation of the Access to Information Policy marked a milestone at CABEI, strengthening our commitment to transparency, openness and accountability . Access to information is fundamental to fulfill our pro-development mandate, to promote the sustainability of operations and to reach out to all the communities in which we are present.", said CABEI Executive President Dante Mossi.

"In order to drive innovation and strengthen accountability, at CABEI we became the first multilateral to disclose in real time indicators of compliance with the Policy. At the Bank, we work every day to effectively and efficiently implement the Access to Information Policy.", added Dr. Maximiliano Alonso, CABEI Director for Argentina and Colombia and Chairman of CABEI's Access to Information Committee.
