The non-reimbursable technical cooperation amounting to US$36 thousand will contribute to the institutional strengthening of PRODETUR.

Guatemala, September 8, 2017. - In order to strengthen the Dynamic Business Development Centers (CDEDS), the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), which is the executing entity of Initiative for the Development of Business Ideas and Acceleration of Central American MSMEs (DINAMICA), signed a non-reimbursable technical cooperation agreement for up to US$36,000.00 with Promotora de Desarrollo Turístico Guatemala (PRODETUR).

The resources will be used to implement the project denominated, "Strengthening PRODETUR's capacities for a dynamic impact on Guatemalan Entrepreneurs and MSMEs," which aims to promote the diversification of products for entrepreneurs who manage sustainable community tourism projects. In addition, the project seeks to strengthen innovation processes in order to generate innovative ideas, establish creativity methodologies and implement projects that promote the country's tourism development.

The CDEDS, which ensure a correct incubation and acceleration of entrepreneurial ideas, are essential for the development of Guatemala’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

PRODETUR stands out as a Center for the Promotion of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (PROMIPYME Center); it is promoted by the Guatemalan Vice-Ministry of MSMEs and seeks the fostering and management of projects through business advisory services, technical assistance, training and links to other programs and support opportunities for female and male entrepreneurs.
