With support from the European Union, the Government of Germany (through its KfW Development Bank) and CABEI, the XX INTERNATIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP CONGRESS was launched; this year the event’s slogan was, "Cerealízate: Let's make cereal business."

Santa Tecla, August 24, 2017. - The ESEN Entrepreneurship Center, together with the Entrepreneurial Students Society (SAE), inaugurated the "XX International Entrepreneurship Congress, (CiES) 2017: "CEREALÍZATE: Let's make cereal business," in commemoration of the its twentieth anniversary. The congress’s main objective is to promote entrepreneurial spirit in young leaders in order to give life to the projects they are passionate about. The event, which will be held on August 24 and 25 on the ESEN campus, will be attended by both Salvadoran and international students and entrepreneurs, as well as representatives from different institutions advocating for an entrepreneurial culture.

The Event
Participants in the event’s  inauguration included ESEN Director General, Mr. Everardo Rivera; DINAMICA Initiative Representatives; European Union Ambassador, Mr. Andreu Bassols; CABEI Country Manager for El Salvador,  Mr. Raúl Castaneda Trabanino; and the local KfW representative for El Salvador, Mr. Roberto Navarro.

This year, the DINAMICA Initiative signed a Non-reimbursable Technical Cooperation Agreement with ESEN; the US$43,000.00 agreement partially finances the project denominated, "Strategic Planning Consultancy for Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios (ESEN) Entrepreneurship Center." The project seeks to strengthen the technical capacities of the ESEN Entrepreneurship Center in order to promote the correct incubation and acceleration of entrepreneurs and MSMEs. To achieve this goal, the project has been divided into three components, one of which is to strengthen the International Entrepreneurship Congress (CiES).

The Congress
The event includes lectures and workshops that enable the young people to integrate into the world of entrepreneurship and materialize ideas for projects, focusing on what they are passionate about doing. In addition, two panels will be held, in which Salvadorans leaders and visionaries will share their opinions and experiences related to the Congress’s subject.

One of the main components of the Congress is the international competition of business plans and entrepreneurial demonstrations; the competition has two categories: professional and amateur. In order to provide additional support to entrepreneurs, this year there are more than US$10,000 in prizes (US$5,000 in cash and the remaining in kind through consultancies).

The DINAMICA Initiative is a tripartite initiative of CABEI as executing entity, the Government of Germany through KfW and the European Union by means of its LAIF funds. Its objective is to strengthen the MSME business ecosystem for new, young or innovative MSMEs in the Central American region.
