CABEI provides educational credit to Nicaraguan students

Facilitating access to knowledge is one of the actions carried out by CABEI as part of its regional Educational Credit Program to foster economic development and Central American integration.

Managua, Nicaragua, February 17, 2015. - In order to facilitate young Central Americans’ access to financing for higher education and thereby increase their job opportunities, today the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) signed an educational credit agreement with Everglades College, Inc. (Keiser University) in Nicaragua.

The CABEI Educational Credit Program is open to all Central American universities, which must go through the CABEI eligibility process in order to gain access to the program’s resources.

Currently, this important CABEI program has US$4 million available to support young people throughout the region.

The initiative, which is denominated the CABEI Educational Credit Program, is a mechanism created to promote increased education levels in the Central American countries. The program is financed with CABEI’s own funds and contributions from the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) granted through its International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF).
