CABEI presents social development initiatives to Vanderbilt University students

CABEI Executive President Dr. Dante Mossi attended postgraduate students in Costa Rica.

San José, March 02, 2020. -  The Executive President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Dr. Dante Mossi, presented the different financing initiatives in the region and how they have contributed to its social development to international students from Vanderbilt University, Tennessee, United States.

At the CABEI reginal building in Costa Rica, Dr. Mossi welcomed the group of university students of different nationalities who are currently touring the country, conducting a seminar as part of the Master’s degree in Economic Development; the participants were very interested in the CABEI's role as the region's financial arm.

During the presentation, Dr. Mossi highlighted that the entity has developed a great deal of work with its member countries, contributing to the integration, economic growth and wellbeing of the population.

He also commented that in 2019, CABEI carried out the most important operation in its history, the approval of financing to Costa Rica for US 550.0 million for the Project denominated, “Fast Passenger Train of the Greater Metropolitan Area.” In addition , he mentioned other noteworthy initiatives such as the first issuance of green bonds, the creation of the budget support program and the Bank's VIII general capital increase.

Among other matters, he spoke about the Bank's Zero Carbon Declaration, for which the Bank will work on initiatives related to promoting climate change mitigation and prevention, and the Declaration on Access to Information.
