CABEI grants credit line to Banco Ficohsa Nicaragua
As the region’s strategic partner, CABEI supports the productive and entrepreneurial sectors through regional intermediary financial institutions.
Managua, September 5, 2017. - The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and Banco Ficohsa Nicaragua signed a US$20 million global credit line contract to meet the needs of intermediary financial institutions
The CABEI funds seek to promote sectors related to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in such areas as biodiversity, energy, entrepreneurship, gender, education, social housing, municipalities, foreign trade and productive sectors.
The contract was signed by CABEI Director for Nicaragua, Dr. Silvio Conrado Gómez, and the General Manager of Banco Ficohsa Nicaragua, Mr. Marco Antonio López.
The credit line is yet another demonstration of CABEI’s commitment to MSME financing in both the rural and urban sectors. The operation is carried out in the framework of the Bank's 2015-2019 Institutional Strategy "Integrating Sustainable Development and Competitiveness" and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by favoring MSME growth, employment generation and poverty reduction.
