The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has maintained a constant commitment to access to clean and safe water in the region. Since its founding in 1960, it has financed and supported projects related to access to this vital liquid. As part of its Intervention Strategy for the Water and Sanitation Sector in the region, the multilateral currently supports projects, cooperation and studies, which include in their strategic axes the institutional strengthening and consolidation of the sector.

“We recognize that sustainable access to clean water and sanitation is essential for public health and economic well-being worldwide. For our countries, it is even more important given the situation of scarcity, the contamination of water sources and the damage caused by climate change. For this reason, we are supporting various initiatives that we know will improve the quality of life in the areas of health and well-being, as well as economic and competitiveness,” said Dr. Dante Mossi, CABEI’s Executive President.
