With CABEI support, sixth edition of the "Honduras Digital Challenge" entrepreneurship program concludes
For the third consecutive year, the Bank made a donation to promote the development of technology entrepreneurs and strengthen the country's digital industries.
Tegucigalpa, November 8th, 2022.- With the objective of promoting technological and digital entrepreneurship in Honduras, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) supported the "Demo Day" with a donation of US$5,000 as part of the sixth edition of the Honduras Digital Challenge (HDC), one of the StartUps incubation programs with the greatest impact on the country's digital and technological community.
In this edition 108 applicants participated, 30 teams were selected, 35 entrepreneurs were trained and 17 ventures were selected for incubation, among which eight finalists were selected in the "Idea Track" category and nine in the "Flight Track" category. The first category corresponds to undeveloped venture ideas, and the other to ventures at the prototype or working level, covering areas of development related to education, fintech, health, digitalization of MSMEs, e-commerce and software design.
"We congratulate all the participants, selected teams, incubated startups and trained entrepreneurs in this edition. We are pleased to support the identification of new talents and ventures for innovation opportunities, technological projects and the development of modern companies. At the Bank, we continue to improve competitiveness, diversification and productivity in our region," said CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.
The promotion of this type of initiative is aligned with the objective of the CABEI 2020-2024 Institutional Strategy "Sustainable Competitiveness", which promotes the development and diversification of productive sectors with a view to regional integration in order to increase productivity, reduce poverty and mitigate the effects of climate change.
