CABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, and UKEF's Director General, Tim Reid, held a meeting in Madrid during the inauguration week of the multilateral organization's representative office in Spain.

Madrid, February 17th, 2023.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the United Kingdom have been strategic allies in the development of opportunities that promote the well-being of the Central American region, which they reaffirmed in 2021 with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between UK Export Finance (the UK's export credit agency) and the multilateral, through which they committed to jointly support major clean energy, infrastructure and construction projects in the region.

This commitment is still in force and was reaffirmed by UKEF Director General, Tim Reid, who met with CABEI President, Dr. Dante Mossi, during his visit to Madrid in the framework of the opening of the CABEI representative office in that city.

"Historically, companies and institutions from the United Kingdom have supported many initiatives in the Central American region, contributing experience and strategic resources that have enabled the countries to develop important projects and programs. CABEI aims to encourage even more active participation on the part of British organizations and companies, which is why we are pleased to have held this meeting in which we strengthened our ties of cooperation," said Mossi.

UKEF works with the UK Department for International Trade to help implement the UK's export strategy, promoting the growth of small businesses and the UK economy as a whole.
