The signing ceremony took place during the inauguration of the CABEI Board of Governors Meeting in Panama City.

The official signing ceremony of Panama’s equity interest increase, which reached a total of US$255.0 million, was held during Board of Governors Meeting of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).

Panamanian President Mr. Juan Carlos Varela acted as honor witness at the signing ceremony.

Currently, CABEI is supporting a number of projects involving climate change adaptation and mitigation. In Panama, CABEI has financed such projects as the Penonomé II Wind Energy Project, the Metro Line 2 project and the Panama Bay Sanitation project, among others.

This capital increase is a reaffirmation of the regional integration efforts promoted by CABEI in order to ensure that all its member countries receive the same benefits.
