Payment of US$6.4 million is part of the Bank's VIII General Capital Increase.
Tegucigalpa, September 21th , 2023.- As part of the commitment acquired in the framework of the VIII General Capital Increase of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) in 2020, the Republic of Nicaragua, as a founding member of the multilateral development bank, recently made the advance payment of the fifth of eight installments for US$6.4 million per year, equal and consecutive, of capital payable derived from the subscription of 20,400 series "A" shares.
In 2020, CABEI officially increased its authorized capital from US$5,000.0 million to US$7,000.0 million. Nicaragua is one of CABEI's founding members, with a 10.68% shareholding and a subscribed capital of US$714.00 million. CABEI currently has a loan portfolio of US$2,131.586 million.
