In support of Nicaraguan MSMEs, CABEI renews credit line to Banco de Finanzas
In the last two years, approximately 93 Nicaraguan MSMEs in the agricultural, commercial, and industrial sectors have benefited from CABEI's credit lines with the BDF.
Managua, May 16th, 2023.- To continue promoting Nicaragua's economic development and strengthening its business fabric, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) renewed a US$32.0 million Global Credit Line with Banco de Finanzas, Sociedad Anónima (BDF).
The funds will be used to meet the financing needs of micro, small and medium-size enterprises (MSMEs), as well as to create business opportunities, in addition to the 93 Nicaraguan agricultural, commercial, and industrial MSMEs that have benefited over the past two years from the credit lines that the Bank maintains with the BDF.
"As CABEI, we continue to support the MSME sector by channeling resources through allied institutions, with the objective of contributing to the strengthening of businesses, supporting the generation of employment and thus contributing to the invigoration of the country's economy," said CABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.
CABEI's Country Chief Officer in Nicaragua, Carlos De Castilla, BDF General Manager in Nicaragua, Jaime Alberto Altamirano, CABEI's Private Sector Representative in Nicaragua, Jairo Anton, and other officials from both institutions participated in the formalization of this credit line.
CABEI supports the revitalization of the country's economy with the development of initiatives such as the Financial Sector Support Facility for financing MSMEs, which has granted credit facilities for US$92.2 million to benefit 3,596 MSMEs and has protected 47,649 employees in Nicaragua.
