Users of the border posts in Guatemala and Honduras will benefit from technological innovation initiatives.

Tegucigalpa, June 1, 2018.- Within the framework of deep integration process of the Republics of Guatemala and Honduras, with funds from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), a delivery of computer equipment was received at the headquarters of the Central American Economic Integration Secretariat (SIECA), care of the Tax Administration Superintendency of Guatemala (SAT).

The equipment will be used at the border posts of Aguacaliente, Corinto and El Florido. This delivery is oriented to the facilitation of trade, coherent with the commitments of the Central American Strategy for Trade Facilitation and Competitiveness, with an emphasis on Coordinated Border Management.

CABEI's project executive, Dorka Casilla, the Customs Intendant of the SAT, Werner Ovalle, and the Secretary General of the SIECA, Melvin Redondo, participated in the delivery.

CABEI, the strategic partner of the region, defines Regional Integration as a strategic axis in its 2015-2019 Institutional Strategy, whose guidelines include the aim of contributing to strengthening trade within and outside of Central America.
