CABEI supports the National Song Festival in Honduras for the second consecutive year

The event was held recently at the Manuel Bonilla National Theater in Tegucigalpa with the participation of 69 musical works by national artists.

Tegucigalpa, August 30th, 2023.- Joining efforts and committed to cultural development and promoting musical talent in Honduras, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), through the Directorate for Honduras, sponsored for the second consecutive year the 2023 edition of the National Song Festival, in which 69 participants registered, providing an opportunity for performers and composers to showcase their musical creations.

"Cultural promotion is a driving force for the development of countries, which is why we at the Bank will continue to support these types of events, which showcase our national artists and the cultural heritage of Honduras and the region for the well-being of Central American families," said Belinda Carías, CABEI Director for Honduras.

Ten finalists competed for the awards for "best composer" and "best performer" in front of an international jury. The winner was Dubis Oviedo with the song "¿Qué nos pasó?", who will represent Honduras at the International Song Festival in Punta del Este, Uruguay. 

These types of actions that promote artistic and cultural expression are aligned with the 2020-2024 Institutional Strategy in the Human Development Strategic Axis, which seeks to improve the well-being and quality of life of people in the region.
