CABEI recognized as a Socially Responsible Company

CABEI obtained the Social Responsibility Seal, which confirms its commitment to socially responsibility efforts in favor of the Central American community.

At a gala dinner held at a hotel in Tegucigalpa, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) Executive Vice President, Mr. Alejandro Rodríguez Zamora, received the Socially Responsible Company Seal. The Seal is awarded by the Honduran Foundation for Corporate [Translate to English:] En el marco de una cena de gala realizada en un hotel capitalino, el Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica (BCIE), en manos de su Vicepresidente Ejecutivo, Abogado Alejandro Rodríguez Zamora, recibió el Sello de Empresa Socialmente Responsable (ESR) que otorga la Fundación Hondureña de Responsabilidad Social Empresarial (FUNDAHRSE) a aquellas empresas que se han destacado por un avance significativo en la adopción de prácticas de Responsabilidad Social Empresarial (RSE).

El Sello ESR fue instituido por FUNDAHRSE en el año 2007 como un medio para motivar a sus empresas miembros a practicar los mejores esfuerzos en la implementación de la RSE.  En esta ocasión al acto asistieron representantes de gobierno, del sector privado y cuerpo diplomático, en el cual fueron galardonadas ocho empresas y contó con la disertación magistral del Sr. Sergio Rial, CFO de Cargill Inc.

"A partir del año 2009, en el cual el BCIE adopta el Plan de Responsabilidad Institucional (PRI), hemos orientados nuestros esfuerzos a fortalecer el compromiso del Banco y sus colaboradores con el medio ambiente y la comunidad con la cual interactuamos", señaló el Vicepresidente Rodríguez.

"Estas acciones han sido reconocidas por FUNDAHRSE y nos enorgullece haber obtenido en el 2012 el Sello ESR, que nos compromete aún más ante nuestros públicos de interés", recalcó.

La implementación de prácticas de RSE se miden a través de los indicadores denominados INDICARSE, que analizan los siguientes ejes institucionales: gobernabilidad, públicos internos, medio ambiente, mercadeo responsable, proveedores, comunidad y políticas públicas.Social Responsibility (FUNDAHRSE1) to companies that have made significant progress in adopting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices.

The Socially Responsible Company Seal was instituted by FUNDAHRSE in 2007 as a means of motivating its member companies to do their best to implement CSR. The event was attended by representatives of the government, the private sector and the diplomatic corps. Eight companies were received awards at the event, which featured a keynote address by Cargill Inc. CFO, Mr. Sergio Rial

"Since 2009, when CABEI adopted its Institutional Responsibility Plan, we have targeted our efforts at strengthen the commitment of the Bank and its collaborators to the environment and the communities with which we interact," said Vice President Rodríguez.

"These efforts have been recognized by FUNDAHRSE, and we are proud to have obtained the Socially Responsible Company Seal in 2012. This award reaffirms our commitment to outreach activities in favor of the Central American people," he said.

The implementation of CSR practices is measured by means of indicators known as the Corporate Social Responsibility Index (CSRI), which analyzes institutional axes including governance, internal policies, environmental sustainability, responsible marketing, suppliers and community and public policies.
