CABEI generates proposals for action and financing to promote the entrepreneurial capacities of young Honduran artisans.

Tegucigalpa, April 15, 2015. – In order to strengthen the entrepreneurial and technical capacities of young Honduran artisans, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), through its Project CAMBio, inaugurated a workshop for young Honduran artisans to exchange experiences.

The workshop was aimed at five MSMEs from the community of San Nicolas, Santa Barbara and was targeted at strengthening different entrepreneurial skills, such as quality improvement, new manufacturing techniques, credit access, accounting and marketing through an exchange of experiences and creation of a website.

Project CAMBio coordinator Mr. Yuri Centeno stated that the training will extend to more young people in the future to promote the creation of new jobs, income, credit access and business strengthening; if the effort is successful, the workshop could be replicated in other municipalities of the country.

The initiative complements the efforts of the CABEI-administered Honduras Spain Fund, which creates and equips workshops for the development of handicrafts in five institutes located in San Nicolas.
