As part of its contribution to Guatemala’s neediest communities, CABEI makes important donation to the Techo Foundation.

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) made an important donation to the Techo Foundation in Guatemala.

The act was presided over by CABEI Director for Guatemala Oscar Pineda Robles, accompanied by members of the Bank’s Board of Directors and Upper Management, and the donation was presented to the Techo Foundation in Guatemala. The purpose of the donation is to construct housing in extremely poor communities in the country’s rural areas.

Gregorio Saavedra, General Manager of Techo Guatemala, received the US$9,900 check, which will be used for the construction of the aforementioned housing.

As part of CABEI’s outreach efforts, for three years Bank personnel and their families have worked with the Techo Foundation and the Bank’s financial support to construct houses for extremely poor people in the country who lack dwellings.

The resources from the first donation were used at the “Primera Joya” community, located in the Municipality of Palencia in the Department of Guatemala, and the second donation went to “Las Montañitas” Community in the Department of Santa Rosa.

The donation ceremony was held at CABEI’s Guatemalan Regional Office, where Director Oscar Pineda Robles declared that this kind of donation is part of the Bank’s Institutional Responsibility Program, whose purpose is to partially comply with its mission to support the social development of the region’s countries and, to that end, to satisfy the basic needs of inhabitants with the most limited economic means.

Director Pineda Robles concluded that CABEI’s social responsibility efforts have been recognized by FUNDAHRSE, which presented CABEI with a seal recognizing it as a Socially Responsible Enterprise.
