San José, April 21, 2017. - On April 22 to 23, the First Citizen Electric Mobility Festival will be held in the parking lots of the Municipality of San José, Costa Rica with the participation of a large number of entities, organizations and citizens in general.

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), which is a sponsor of the event, seeks to support the educational experience in order to inform consumers about the benefits of electric transportation, its operational practices and the experiences of Costa Rican drivers who already own this type of technology.

In addition to being an educational, cultural and non-commercial fair, it will also be the first of its kind in the country. Participants will have access to technical information on the efficient use of renewable energy and data regarding the variety of electric vehicles available in the country. They will also be provided with information on the technological application of electric buses, the availability of electric bicycles and access to other types of electric mobility alternatives, including cars and energy recharging mechanisms for these innovative technologies.

Yesterday, a special guest at the Festival and the President of the Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association, Christina Bu, started her lecture series by sharing lessons with the public about the experience in her country, which has become the world’s first leading electric vehicle market and promoted the participation and training of Costa Rican families in this type of transportation technology.

The Citizen Electric Mobility Festival is part of a number of important activities carried out at the Ibero-American level to highlight important efforts carried out in favor of sustainability in the framework of Earth Day.
