CABEI celebrates journalist day with workshop denominated "From your phone"

In an intense and fruitful talk, renowned journalist Glenda Umaña spoke about how new technologies have transformed journalism.

Tegucigalpa, June 15, 2017. -In a live interview for social networks with the Executive President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) Dr. Nick Rischbieth, renowned Costa Rican journalist Glenda Umaña offered an informative talk to members of the national press.

The workshop denominated "From your Phone" was organized by CABEI in order to recognize the work of social communicators and provide a space to learn about technological tools at the service of information.

During his speech, CABEI Executive President Dr. Nick Rischbieth thanked each of the journalists attending for the daily exercise of their profession, which is dignified and valuable work that contributes to the development of the region.

Subsequently, experienced Costa Rican journalist Glenda Umaña talked about current issues, such as the current news consumption by consumers, latest trends and ethical care the press should implement in social networks.

A noteworthy event was the interview made using Facebook Live with CABEI Executive President Dr. Nick Rischbieth, which highlighted the Bank’s human side and leadership. In addition, a brief presentation was made about CABEI actions to address the region’s challenges in order to ensure its economic development and the wellbeing of its citizens.

The live transmission was so intense and enriching that it was extended to the statements of CABEI Executive Vice President, Attorney Alejandro Rodríguez, who stated that, "The actions of the institution are focused on supporting the efforts of governments to improve productive infrastructure, update the energy matrix, improve the water distribution network and reinforce the financial arm for regional integration."

The attendees enjoyed a typical and delicious breakfast, in addition to participating in raffles of technological products that will contribute to their daily journalistic work.
