An approach that promotes the Central American region

Tegucigalpa, February 14, 2019.- Today, the Executive President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Dr. Dante Mossi, begins a visit tour that aims to achieve greater rapprochement with several multilateral organizations and development financial institutions based in the United States and Europe.

The work tour will formally begin this Thursday with a series of meetings with officials of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the International Finance Corporation, the International Monetary Fund, the Treasury Department of the United States of America, the World Bank (WB) and the Organization of American States (OAS).

It should be noted that CABEI, WB and IDB are part of a joint working group of OAS summits and share actions in other working groups or mechanisms at the international level.

During these meetings, President Mossi, stressed that the vision of his management is to publicize the results of CABEI, which has been a pioneer in the financing of regional development projects for its member countries.

According to the visit agenda, the activities in Europe include meetings with representatives of the Government of Germany through its KFW Development Bank, Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ), General Directorate of the Treasury of France, French Agency for Development, Spanish Development Finance Institution, Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development, Spanish Institute of Export Credit Insurance, Official Credit Institute, Fund for the Promotion of Development and the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.

President Mossi added that, "Another objective of this tour is to increase relations with other multilateral entities operating in Central America in order to take advantage of synergies that generate greater impact on the region's development, in addition to promoting opportunities to develop new  private sector projects in Central America, fostering its integration."

Dr. Mossi also indicated that he has proposed to continue the work of the institution in line with the required precautionary standards of integrity, transparency, equality, competition, due process and accountability.
