With the support of the CABEI Foundation, around 250 Honduran high school students will receive scholarships

On Thursday, a non-reimbursable financial cooperation agreement was signed for the Bicentennial Scholarship Program for up to US$625,000.

Tegucigalpa, July 28th, 2023 - On Thursday, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), through its Social Support Foundation (FAS), and the Government of the Republic of Honduras signed an agreement for the Bicentennial Scholarship Program, which will support approximately 50 students per year for five years, to helpthem complete their secondary education.

The beneficiaries, who will be selected by the Ministry of Education, will be provided with annual resources for the purchase of teaching materials, uniforms, transportation, academic tools, food, school supplies, connectivity, among others, to facilitate the completion of their secondary education.

The initiative was formalized through a non-reimbursable financial cooperation agreement for up to US$625,000 in a ceremony in whichCABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, and the Secretary of Finance, Mrs. Rixi Moncada Godoy, participated.

Since 2020, CABEI created the FAS to promote high-impact social projects in its member countries. This initiative responds to the multilateral's actions in support of poverty reduction and improving the quality of life of citizens in the region, as contemplated in CABEI's 2020-2024 Institutional Strategy, specifically in the Human Development Strategic Axis.
