We continue to deepen our commitment to Argentina

Buenos Aires, November 2nd, 2022.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) signed a headquarters agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Culture of the Republic of Argentina to formalize its establishment in the country, following the opening of its officially inaugurated office on Monday, October 31st.

The agreement was signed today by CABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, and Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero.

CABEI Executive President, Dante Mossi, stated that "this agreement deepens our institution's commitment to the Republic of Argentina and marks a new milestone in the relationship between CABEI and the country that began 27 years ago.

He also celebrated this initiative that "will allow us to continue promoting the integration and economic and social development of the Central American region through initiatives that generate employment, well-being and quality of life for each and every one of the inhabitants of this beautiful country." 

The Republic of Argentina has been a CABEI extra-regional member since 1995 and already has twelve approved operations in the country.  It has worked hard to help vulnerable populations and strengthen gender equality.

It has also provided significant support to science and technology, agriculture, and the digital transformation of SMEs, among others.

The country has subscribed capital of US$305.8 million and accumulated capital contributions of US$41.3 million, representing a 4.3% shareholding in CABEI.
