For personal reasons, the candidate Enrique Alberto Cañas Jiménez, of Salvadoran nationality, withdrew from the process.
Tegucigalpa, October 20, 2023.-Heidrick & Struggles, New York office, firm unanimously selected by the CABEI Board of Directors to conduct the competition process for the election of the new Executive President of the Institution, nominated Mr. Gerardo José Segovia Granillo , Salvadoran, as part of the short list of candidates to occupy the aforementioned position. Said nomination arose as a result of the withdrawal of the process of Mr. Enrique Alberto Cañas Jiménez, of Salvadoran nationality, for personal reasons derived from the recent death of his father, and after Mr. Edwin Araque Bonilla, Honduran, who had been nominated by Heidrick & Struggles to substitute him, also withdrew.
Mr. Gerardo José Segovia Granillo is a business administrator, with an M.B.A. from the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile, highlighting in his work experience the positions of Head of Corporate Banking at Banco Cuscatlán of El Salvador and Head of Corporate, Commercial and Middle Market Banking at Scotiabank, with extensive experience in banking and corporate finance.
The other candidates that make up the short list presented by the firm are Ana Guissella Sánchez Maroto, Bernardo José Alfaro Araya, Celina María Padilla de O'Byrne, Hugo Rolando Noé Pino, and Jaime Roberto Díaz Palacios.
As previously reported, the CABEI Board of Directors will proceed to interview the proposed people during its period of sessions corresponding to the month of October of this year, which will begin next Monday the 23rd, with the purpose of forming the shortlist of three that will be submitted for consideration. of the Bank's Board of Governors, the body that is responsible for electing the new Executive President on November 17, during the extraordinary meeting that has been convened for that purpose.
