Resources will be channeled through the Environment and Sustainable Development Ministry.

Buenos Aires, March 18, 2022.- In solidarity and support of the Republic of Argentina in response to the fires in the country, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) approved US$250,000 in Emergency and Natural Disaster Assistance to address the effects of the fiery emergency.

The resources will be used by the Environment and Sustainable Development Ministry to support the efforts that the Argentine Republic is making through its governmental authorities to combat fires, restore affected areas and prevent new outbreaks.

"In times of adversity, CABEI always supports its member countries and, on this occasion, it joins the solidarity aid that we know will support the affected families so that they can receive medical attention and cover their basic needs," explained CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.

For his part, Maximiliano Alonso, CABEI Director for Argentina and Colombia, commented: "It is gratifying that this multilateral development institution has provided such a rapid response to accompany the Argentine State in this crisis situation, mainly for the benefit of the affected population.”

CABEI supports its extra-regional partner countries with this type of emergency assistance in situations of natural disasters or other disasters such as fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, pandemics, among others, to face crises.
