More than 250 low-income Costa Rican children received a Christmas gift with CABEI support
• US$14,000 was donated to seven organizations around the country.
San José, January 10th, 2023 - Children from low-income families in different parts of Costa Rica had their Christmas gifts brightened thanks to various donations made by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), with which seven organizations were able to purchase toys, clothes and/or products for their basic needs.
"It fills us with enthusiasm to know that with our support, dozens of children received hope at Christmas with a present or some others with recreational activities. In line with our Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility System (SASC), CABEI seeks to lend a hand to the social and/or environmental causes that need it most,"said CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.
The donations, which totaled US$14,000, were delivered by the CABEI Country Office to the CABEI to the Golfito Integral Development Association, the Matina Long Distance Association, Coopezamora and Barrio Alegre, Lomas del Toro and Juan Rafael Mora Associations, as well as to the Hogar de Vida para la Niñez, which held a livestock auction to raise funds.
The director of Costa Rica at CABEI, Erwen Masís commented: "it was very satisfying to look at the smile of the children when the present was delivered to them, we are very committed to support social causes, and above all, to the most vulnerable populations".
