Costa Rica develops its first Song Festival with CABEI support

San José, August 11^th, 2023. - TheCentral American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) sponsored the first edition of the National Song Festival (FENC-CR), which attracted 270 participants, 9 of whom were finalists, to encourage cultural development and promote the professional careers of Costa Rican composers and singers.

The song "Milongón para un amor de carnaval", by singer-songwriter José Martín Rodríguez Jiménez, MartínSon, was the winner and, as part of the prize, will be produced in a studio, as well as its respective video. In addition, its performance at the International Song Festival of Punta del Este, Uruguay, will be coordinated.

CABEI’s Director for Costa Rica, Erwen Masís, participated in the awards ceremony, highlighting the importance of supporting the arts and diverse cultural expressions as part of the country's human development. "It is a great pleasure for CABEI to be part of these activities that enrich the culture of our Central American countries and that will be recognized in many others," he said.

With this type of initiative, CABEI continues to contribute to cultural development and the promotion of spaces and activities that contribute to the wellbeing of the population.
