Through a donation from the Bank, approximately 80 multi-grade students at the Emberá Purú School will be part of the "Rainwater Harvesting, Storage and Filtration Project".

Panama City, August 10th, 2023.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) granted a donation of US$8,000 to the Pro-Children of Darien Foundation for the execution of the "Rainwater Harvesting, Storage and Filtration Project" at the Emberá Purú School in the province of Darién in southern Panama.

The initiative consists of the installation of a rainwater harvesting system, with its respective channeling, purification and pumping systems, which will provide the beneficiaries with more than 220,000 liters of water annually, thus reducing malnutrition, health and education problems.

The sponsorship to make this possible is part of the Environmental and Social Corporate Responsibility System (SASC) of CABEI, the Central American bank that, over the years, has contributed technically and financially to programs and projects that promote access to water and proper sanitation as key factors for improving people's quality of life and the economic growth of nations.
