FRAUD ALERT STATEMENT

Tegucigalpa, July 29th, 2022.-The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) wishes to inform and alert its shareholders, authorities, and the general public of attempted electronic frauds that are being carried out using the Bank's name by means of text messages or e-mails requesting deposits in third party accounts in order to access CABEI financing.

Therefore, we wish to clarify that CABEI is a multilateral development organization, and therefore its business is not to directly offer first-tier commercial banking services to individuals, meaning, we do not grant loans directly to individuals.

CABEI will never ask you to make deposits for the purpose of benefiting you with any of the CABEI programs administered through the different financial institutions in the region.

We call on the general public to be alert to any emails, calls, text messages inviting them to provide sensitive data, bank account information or make deposits in third party accounts; these are signs that they could be subject to financial fraud and are urged to report them to the competent authorities.
