CABEI’s Executive President visits SICA

Dr. Nick Rischbieth, CABEI’s Executive President met with Hugo Martínez, SICA’s Secretary General to propose joint initiatives that promote Central American integration.

Tegucigalpa August 26 2013.- The Executive President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), met with the Secretary General of the Central American Integration System (SICA), Hugo Martínez, to discuss issues related to economic development and joint initiatives towards Central American integration.

During the meeting, they discussed the five main issues on the regional agenda: democratic security, climate change and disaster prevention, economic integration, social integration and institutional strengthening. They also discussed about the modernization of the regional integration system.

Dr. Rischbieth reaffirmed CABEI's collaboration with  the Central American region in helping improve the quality of life of the region's population.

Following the third year of the implementation of its Institutional Strategy 2010-2014 "Competitiveness with Social Integration and Development", CABEI expects to have an important effect on the economic and social activity of the region, benefiting more than one third of the Central American population Of the interventions approved by CABEI, 93% are oriented to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger.

The visit of Dr. Rischbieth with the Secretary General of SICA is part of CABEI's efforts to deepen its institutional relations, as the main financial agent of the region. and Bank of the Central American Integration System.
