In response to the devastation caused by recent natural disasters in Mexico, CABEI supported the people of Mexico with non-reimbursable financial cooperation amounting to US$250 thousand.

Tegucigalpa, October 1, 2013.- The Board of Directors of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) granted non-reimbursable financial cooperation amounting to US$250 thousand to government of Mexico to help mitigate the damage caused by Hurricane Ingrid and tropical storm Manuel.

CABEI Executive President Dr. Nick Rischbieth noted that this cooperation to help the affected Mexican people is done with funds destined to support member countries facing emergency situations or natural disasters.

This financial support is a demonstration of CABEI's solidarity with Mexico, a non-regional member of the Bank, and is destined to mitigate the damage in more than 100 municipalities in the states of Chihuahua, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave.

The cooperation will be delivered through a single disbursement to the Mexican Red Cross, which within six months must present the Bank with a detailed report on the resources used and the results achieved.
