As protagonists of regional change, young people from the CONECTA group held a meeting with CABEI officials.

Tegucigalpa, August 21, 2017. - The Executive Vice President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Attorney Alejandro Rodríguez Zamora, presided over the meeting with members of the CONECTA group held at the CABEI headquarters. During his speech, he encouraged young people to join forces and promote projects and new ventures that benefit the development and integration of the region.

CONECTA is an organization with the vision of promoting Central American unity and economic and social development through the integration of active regional leaders in important areas of society.

During the event, Mr. Rodríguez spoke to and exchanged views with the young people, who gave him their ideas about entrepreneurship for the benefit of the Central American and Caribbean countries.

In that sense, Attorney Rodríguez, congratulated the young people for their desire to form groups of this nature, stating that, "This group of young people is a sign that future generations are concerned with learning and seeking new ideas and tools that can help strengthen their knowledge."

He added that, “I take this opportunity to present the Program denominated ‘Initiative for the Development of Business Ideas and Acceleration of Central America MSMEs (DINAMICA),’ which is a tripartite initiative of CABEI as executing entity, the Government of Germany through its KfW Development Bank and the European Union as part of its Latin American Investment Facility (LAIF). Its main objective is to strengthen the MSME business ecosystem, especially for new, young and/or innovative MSMEs.

The roundtable discussion was also attended by CABEI: Advisor to the Office of Strategic Planning and Programming, Mr. José de Jesús Rojas; Sector and Country Manager, Mr. Horacio Leiva; Head of Private Sector and Non-Sovereign Operations, Mr. José Felix Magaña; and Institutional Relations Office Analyst, Mr. Randall Hooker.
At the meeting, the attending CABEI officials presented the Bank’s projects, programs and competitive advantages regarding its operational and financial work in the region.
