CABEI grants emergency financial cooperation to Mexico to address damage caused by Hurricane Otis

Tegucigalpa, November 8^th, 2023.- In solidarity with the Mexican families affected by Hurricane Otis, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) granted an emergency financial cooperation of US$500,000.00 to the United Mexican States.

This cooperation accompanies the Mexican government's efforts to assist the affected population that urgently requires infrastructure, food, and health services, and all those domestic material goods that were affected as a result of Hurricane OTIS, which reached the coast of Acapulco, Guerrero as a category 5 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale.

CABEI's support to its non-regional partner country reiterates our institution's commitment to provide timely and solidary support to member countries when, for natural reasons, phenomena that affect the population require immediate attention.
