CABEI celebrates 58 years of forging the region's development and integration

Tegucigalpa, December 13, 2018.- On the its 58th anniversary celebration, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) held a Christmas cocktail to present the new Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, to members of the diplomatic corps, aid organizations, international organizations and government representatives.

The occasion was used by the institution to confirm its commitment as a multilateral bank for the region's sustainable development and integration.

CABEI's work revolves around a business model that offers technical financial solutions to meet the investment needs of its member countries.

Currently, CABEI has the best risk ratings in the region and its financial achievements are invested towards the region’s social and economic development.

In his speech, the new Bank head recalled the organization's raison d'être, "To promote the economic integration and balanced economic and social development of the Central American region," giving merit to those who make this mission a reality.

In his words the CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, said that although the Institution has fulfilled the objectives for which it was created, there are still many challenges to be overcome. These include expanding the capital base through the incorporation of new members, maintaining risk rating levels and generating a profound impact on development to improve the quality of life of Central Americans.

In his message he stated that, "Our anniversary coincides with Christmas, for that reason I wish for peace, harmony and happiness, and that the season inspire us to renew our commitment to continue giving the best of ourselves for the benefit of our beneficiaries. In addition, I wish you and your loved ones happiness. My commitment as Executive President is to make this Institution a better place for you and for those who inhabit this prosperous and opportunity-filled region."

A trajectory at the service of the region
CABEI was created in 1960 as the financial arm for the region's integration and development. Its resources are invested in projects with an impact on development to reduce poverty and inequalities, strengthen regional integration and the competitive insertion of the member countries into the world economy, paying special attention to environmental sustainability.

CABEI's resources finance highways, hydroelectric power plants, transmission lines, ports, airports, construction of hospitals and schools, water and sanitation and much more infrastructure, becoming an essential benchmark for the transformation of its member countries.
