The commemoration seeks to raise awareness in support of the work of different international and multilateral organizations aimed at eradicating poverty and promoting full employment and decent work, as well as gender equality and access to social wellbeing and justice for all.

These initiatives are implemented as part of the CABEI Institutional Responsibility program, which has the mission of reducing poverty and inequality through the generation of development that is both socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable.

Social justice is a fundamental principle for peaceful and prosperous coexistence within and between countries. CABEI seeks to contribute to reducing poverty, hunger and exclusion in order to effectively lead the sustainable development of the Central American peoples.

Achieving social justice is closely linked to the Sustainable Development Goals, which are an integral part of the Bank's operations. With support from volunteers in the CABEI Regional Offices, it carries out work involving community development, education and healthcare in the hopes of building a better world and improving the quality of life for those most in need.
