For CABEI, education and youth play a fundamental role since an empowered youth increases productivity and competitiveness.

Tegucigalpa, August 12, 2022.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), in the framework of International Youth Day, reaffirms its commitment to young people and their education, which it supports on an ongoing basis with various programs and projects that promote inclusive education in the region, as well as through its Social Support Foundation (FAS-CABEI).

FAS-CABEI is working to build opportunities for young people through the "Bicentennial Scholarship" and "CABEI-Zamorano" programs which help socially vulnerable young people complete their secondary and university education.

The goal of the bicentennial scholarships is to annually benefit at least 25 young people who meet the requirements of outstanding academic performance and financial need, who will be selected by the Ministries or Secretariats of each of the founding countries. The Zamorano scholarships, have one annual scholarship per country to begin the 2023 study cycle and will be selected by the academic institution.

"To change the lives of Central America's youth  we are creating opportunities to promote their education, as this will provide them with concrete possibilities for their development. Our initiatives are focused on providing the necessary tools so that young people can fulfill their dreams and we invite governments and financial institutions to join us in this effort," said CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.

The financial support of the bicentennial scholarships is intended to enable young people to cover their education and expenses associated with uniforms, transportation, computers, food, school materials, connectivity, among others, which will allow them to have a better learning environment and thus increase their development opportunities.
