The organizations seek to establish joint forces to address the main challenges and opportunities facing the region.

Tegucigalpa, September 12, 2019.- Today, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) inaugurated the “Workshop on knowledge exchange in the execution of integration, energy, transportation and commercial projects.”

CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, stated that, “It is extremely important to carry out this training workshop and that joint initiatives be achieved to finance regional projects, as well as strengthen relations, cooperation ties and knowledge.”

The joint initiative aims to exchange experiences on the actions being carried out on such subjects as: Regional Integration, Energy, Transportation, Commerce, Operational Execution and Preinvestment.

During the two-day workshop, work teams of both multilaterals organizations actively participated in developing a knowledge management system and improving and expanding the exchange of information between technical areas on capitalizable experiences in funded projects and current project demands in the region in order to improve the quality of the institutions’ operations, while reinforcing capacities to achieve the established objectives.

Event attendees included IDB General Manager of the Department of Central American Countries, Haiti, Mexico, Panama and the Dominican Republic, Verónica Zavala and IDB's team of experts, including Head of the PPP Team, Gastón Astesiano; Senior Infrastructure Specialist, Mauro Alem; Head of the Commerce and Investment Division, Jaime Granados; Head of the Transportation Infrastructure Division, Néstor Roa; and Energy Division Head, Ariel Yépez.
