“Ideas, Camera, Action, for the Future", a CABEI Regional Short Film Competition
The initiative seeks innovative proposals that, through audiovisual productions, articulate stories, and issues with a propositional approach of reflection and change.
Tegucigalpa, October 16, 2020.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), in its 60th anniversary framework, announces the Regional Short Film Competition "Ideas camera action, for the future", in order to encourage creativity, promote regional integration and the development of Central American artistic skills.
While speaking at the virtual launch ceremony, CABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, made a call to invest time in creativity and innovation. "It is important to listen to the beneficiaries in our member countries, and this is a way to hear stories and also to reflect on changes that can be implemented in the short, medium and long term in our countries.”
The contest seeks to encourage the participation of amateurs and professionals to produce short videos on key issues for the development of the Central American region. Proposals will be accepted that respond to the following themes: environmental sustainability, social sustainability, how can we promote post-pandemic economic recovery in the region?
The Council of Women's Ministers of Central America and the Dominican Republic, Alicia Rodriguez; the Executive Secretary of the Central American Commission on Environment and Development, Salvador Nieto; the Head of CABEI's Environmental Sustainability Office, Roberto Lopez; the documentary filmmaker, Laura Bermudez and the filmmaker Alejandro Irias participated in the event.

The prizes
The best entry in each of the three categories will be awarded. The prize for the best entries consists of US$6,000.00 payable in the name of the participant.

- Winners will be notified by email.
The period for submitting proposals opens on October 16, and the deadline for submission is November 16, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Central America time. The result of this contest will be made public on December 4, 2020.
