CABEI mourns the passing of Jorge Bueso Arias
The renowned Honduran economist was a signatory of CABEI's Constitutive Agreement in 1960. In 2019, during the 60th anniversary celebration, a special tribute was paid to him for his work.
Tegucigalpa, September 18th, 2023.- It is with deep sorrow that the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) mourns the death of Mr. JORGE BUESO ARIAS (RIP), one of the signatories of CABEI's Constitutive Agreement that gave birth to this institution in 1960.
Mr. Bueso Arias, a former CABEI Governor, contributed to the development and economic and social integration of the Central American region and Honduras, facilitating the implementation of fundamental initiatives for the well-being of Central Americans. In 2019, during the 60th anniversary celebration, a special tribute was paid to him for his work.
The prominent economist and banker enjoyed the admiration and respect of the Honduran society. He was one of the most active characters in the national economy, held positions in the government, was a member of several entities where he distinguished himself for a relevant trajectory in the economic and financial field of the country.
In light of the sad news, CABEI reiterates its condolences for such an irreparable loss and publicly extends its deepest sympathy to his beloved family.
