San José, July 20th, 2022. – The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) reiterates its support to its founding member country Costa Rica to develop sustainable, modern and efficient forms of transportation that the Government of the Republic establishes as a priority for the benefit of Costa Ricans.
"We are respectful of the sovereign decisions of our member countries and, aware that each ruler and his team is governed under his own government plan and for this purpose prioritizes the projects he considers necessary, we once again reiterate to President Rodrigo Chaves Robles our technical and financial support so that line 1 of the Rapid Passenger Train between Paraíso de Cartago and the capital San José can be developed," indicated CABEI Executive President Dr. Dante Mossi.
CABEI's support will materialize with technical support in updating the demand and costs of line 1, as well as with the modification of the scope of the US$550 million sovereign guaranteed loan approved in 2019 as the largest in its history at that time.
