CABEI delivers social aid to El Salvador

CABEI's support initiatives for El Salvador's neediest groups in times of pandemic continue.

Tegucigalpa July 23rd, 2020.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), within the scope of its actions in the Corporate Environmental and Social Responsibility System component, has supported various social causes in El Salvador.

In order to join efforts, CABEI has provided a donation of US$2,000 to the Salvadoran Red Cross to strengthen the Belen Plan, one of the programs and projects for social inclusion, health, water, and sanitation, risk and disaster management.

On the other hand, CABEI gave a contribution of US$ 9 thousand dollars to the Association for the Welfare and Development of the Fire Department of El Salvador, for the purchase of sanitizing products and personal protection equipment for 418 employees.

In order to collaborate with 900 children enrolled in the onco-pediatric program from low-income families, the Bank granted US$5,000 to the "Ayúdame a Vivir" Foundation to guarantee treatment for the children in question.

Also, CABEI gave a contribution of US$5,000 to the Association of Ladies of Charity of San Vicente de Paul in San Salvador for the purchase of medicines, medical supplies, cleaning supplies and chemicals for the San Vicente de Paul Nursing Home. The same organization was supported with a donation of US$4,000 dollars “Hogar de Niños San Vicente de Paúl”, the resources will be used to buy cleaning supplies, protective equipment, food, and teaching materials to facilitate learning.

Finally, in order to help cover the repatriation expenses of 43 Salvadorans who are in the cities of Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, the CABEI delivered a donation of US$2,300.00 to the Embassy of El Salvador in Honduras.
