CABEI supports XLI Marimba Festival in Antigua Guatemala
The event will take place on September 26 and will be broadcast for free via Facebook Live.
Guatemala City, September 23, 2021.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) made a donation to the Education and Culture Paiz Foundation for the development of the XLI Marimba Festival as part of the celebration of the month of independence, strengthening Guatemalan identity and culture, and providing an opportunity for exposure to renowned artists whose talent has contributed to promote music in the country.
The donation of US$5,000, presented by CABEI Director for Guatemala, Mr. Hugo Martinez Rebulla, will contribute to the enhancement of the music of the national instrument par excellence and to the public recognition of personalities who have distinguished themselves in the country's musical history.
"We are very pleased to be able to support the development of this traditional activity, which for more than four decades has been part of Guatemala's independence month celebrations. This festival provides a space to promote the country's musical values and to be a meeting point between artists and the population," said CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.
The event will take place in Antigua Guatemala on September 26 at 4 p.m. (Guatemala time) and will be broadcast free of charge on Facebook Live of the Paiz Foundation. It will feature the participation of 36 musicians and is expected to have a digital audience of 3,000 people live and 45,000 reproductions in the month of September.
