Buenos Aires, May 3rd, 2022.- Argentina's silent basketball delegation will be present at the upcoming Deaflympics to be held in Caxias Do Sul, Brazil, thanks to support from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) in the amount of US$8,000 to cover their expenses.

The sponsorship was given to the Silent Basketball Federation of Argentina (FABS), in charge of the logistics of hearing-impaired athletes from different parts of the country, who are currently ranked number 6 in the world, as well as silver medalist in the Pan American Games.

"CABEI is committed to inclusion in all its forms, which is why we are extremely pleased to support this delegation of hearing-impaired athletes from Argentina, encouraging them to continue along the path of sport and discipline," highlighted CABEI Executive President Dr. Dante Mossi.

Maximiliano Alonso, CABEI Director for Argentina and Colombia, added: "Sport is a very important channel for integration and with this support we recognize the enormous effort made by these athletes to excel in what they do and to compete healthily with many others."

The Deaflympics are the Olympic Games for the deaf, who due to the sensory characteristics of their disability cannot participate in the Paralympic Games. More than 7,000 physically, cognitively and visually impaired athletes from all over the world participate in the international competition.
